Chocolate silk pie

Ingredients


1 (9-inch) prepared chocolate crumb crust


1 package (12 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips (2 cups)


1-1/2 cups heavy cream, divided


2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract


1/4 cup powdered sugar





Directions


Combine chocolate chips and 1/2 cup whipping cream in a medium-sized microwave safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH (100%) 1 to 2 minutes or until melted and smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Stir in vanilla extract.


Chill chocolate mixture in an ice water bath, stirring frequently until chocolate is cooled to room temperature.


Beat remaining 1 cup whipping cream on high speed of electric mixer, gradually adding powdered sugar, until soft peaks form. Stir in 1/3 of the whipped cream into chocolate mixture. Gently fold in remaining whipped cream; spoon into crust. Cover and refrigerate 2 to 3 hours or until set. If desired, garnish with additional whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles or fresh berries.What's the best recipe for apple/ frech silk pie?
Apple Pie by Grandma Ople





1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch double crust pie


1/2 cup unsalted butter


3 tablespoons all-purpose flour


1/4 cup water


1/2 cup white sugar


1/2 cup packed brown sugar


8 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced





Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).


Melt the butter in a saucepan.


Stir in flour to form a paste.


Add water, white sugar and brown sugar, and bring to a boil.


Reduce temperature and let simmer.





Place the bottom crust in your pan.


Fill with apples, mounded slightly.


Cover with a lattice work of crust.





Gently pour the sugar and butter liquid over the crust.


Pour slowly so that it does not run off.





Bake 15 minutes in the preheated oven.





Reduce the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).


Continue baking for 35 to 45 minutes, until apples are soft.








French Silk Pie Recipe





2 c butter, softened; cream at low speed


3 c sugar; gradually add, creaming well after each addition





8 oz melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled


4 t vanilla





Blend these two together, make sure it is cooled before adding into the sugar/butter mixture; cream well.





8 cold eggs





Add eggs 2 at a time, beating at high speed for 3 minutes each, scrape the bowl often.





It is really important to mix this batter well at high speed or the pie will taste grainy. If you get a rich creamy texture you did it right!





Pour into a prepared pie crust and Chill 2 hours.
You can now buy apple pies frozen at your grocery store. Follow the directions on the containers for oven cooking. Very good.





You can also buy frozen silk pie already made and ready to eat. Follow directions on the container.





Try the frozen Key Lime pies. You'll be so glad you did.
